Recessed Light Rough-In Plates
Rough-in and pre-mounting plates for recessed and pot lights. Installed between the joists before drywall, a plate gives your recessed light a solid mount and a cleanly sized, accurately placed cut-out. Every recessed light page shows the plate that fits it.
How to choose a rough-in plate
Rough-in plates are made for a specific brand and hole size, so always match the plate to your recessed light. Open the light's product page and look for the Rough-in plate section, which links to the correct plate and size.
Plates with a lip sit flush with the bottom of the joist for a cleaner ceiling line, and longer plates or plates with hanger bars span wider joist spacing.
