Every room works best with layers of light: ambient light for the whole space, task light where you read, cook or get ready, and accent light to highlight art and architecture.
Start with the room you use most, pick a statement fixture, then fill in with lamps, sconces and pot lights.
Room lighting FAQ
Can't find your answer? Our lighting consultants are happy to help with sizing, finishes and installation.
Ask a consultantHow do I choose the right size fixture for a room?
Add the room's length and width in feet. The total, in inches, is a good starting diameter for a ceiling fixture.
Should all the fixtures in my home match?
They do not need to match. Keeping finishes or shapes related from room to room gives a cohesive look.
Can you help me choose?
Yes. Our lighting consultants offer free lighting design help, including layout suggestions from your photos or plans.
Not sure which fixture is right for your space?
Send us your floor plan or a few photos and our lighting consultants will suggest fixtures, sizes and placement, free of charge.
