How to size a large pendant
For a room, add the length and width in feet. The total, in inches, is a good starting diameter. A 14 x 16 ft room suits a fixture about 30 inches wide.
Over a table, choose a diameter about 12 inches narrower than the table's width.

Over a table, 30 to 36 inches above the top. In open walkways, keep at least 7 feet of clearance below the fixture.
Will my ceiling box support it?
Heavier fixtures may need a fan-rated or braced box. Check the weight in the specs, and ask your electrician.
