Bathroom & Damp-Rated Sconces
Wall sconces rated for damp or wet locations, ideal beside a bathroom mirror, in powder rooms, laundry rooms and covered spaces.
How to light a bathroom mirror with sconces
Mount a sconce on each side of the mirror, about 60 to 66 inches from the floor and 28 to 40 inches apart. Side lighting reduces shadows on the face better than a single light above.
Always choose damp-rated fixtures for bathrooms, and wet-rated fixtures for areas that may get sprayed.
Bathroom sconce FAQ
Can't find your answer? Our lighting consultants are happy to help with sizing, finishes and installation.
Ask a consultantWhat does damp-rated mean?
The fixture is certified for areas with moisture or condensation, like bathrooms, but not for direct water spray.
Can I use a sconce above the mirror?
Yes. If space beside the mirror is tight, a sconce or vanity light above the mirror works well.
